DIY minimalist shampoo bottles

DIY

I have so many DIY projects stored away and I thought it was about time to attempt some of those bad boys! So in this first post of many, I decided to start small. I wanted to do something that wouldn't take a lot of time or effort--plus I needed a confidence boost! Insert minimalist shampoo bottles here-- or as Molly over at Almost Makes Perfect likes to call it "pretty shampoo bottles." I totally attempted this quick and easy diy, and I think you should too! Don't forget to check out the original project over on her blog.

Tools:

  • Cool bottles
  • 1/4" vinyl stickers
  • X-acto knife (makes extracting the vinyl letters from the sheet easier)
  • Tape

You should start by taping off a straight line, this is how you'll line up the letters so that they're level across the top. This project calls for lots of eyeballing but I guess you can use a level and a ruler if you're not good with that. I found that the hardest part was not putting the tape on straight but getting the kerning just right. I wasn't all that successful but unless you look really hard I doubt you can tell. Shhh... it's our little secret!

That's about it really. I kept the tape on the first bottle so that I could use it as a guide as to where to place it on the other bottles.

So what do you think? Think you'll give it a try?
